Timely truth

I don't know when I started saying it, but for years in the midst of back porch conversations, usually sifting through hard things I said "time tells a great story." I might have taken that from someone else at some point, but I know I've been using that on the porch and in my mind for a LONG time now.
The reason I use it so much? Because we live in a broken world. People let you down. You let you down. People get sick. People lie. People...well you know. People is not "those" evil folks, but it's you and I. We are all dealing with this thing called sin and a fleshly nature that leads us astray.
But take heart. In the end, if you are a Jesus follower, He wins. No matter what the narrative of the story is now, the arc of redemption concludes at the cross and eternity will be full of thankfulness knowing what He has done for us.
Wherever your story is today, God is in it. And it can be great, even if it does not feel like it right now. Because through Christ, time tells a great story.
