Trusting

If we’ve hung out over the last few years you might have heard me say something like this: “I don’t think I want to be in a ministry that needs to raise money again.”

Partially that was because if you read my personality testing you’d see that my nature is not to ask for help for others and I am wired in such a way where I feel like when I do ask I am putting the relationship on the line. I love and live to help others but am not great about asking for help.

Awareness of that is a good thing. And it’s caused me to try and get better to ask those close to me for help when needed. Not always, but I think folks know when I ask, I mean it. I’ve always wanted to be more on the “giver” side of the equation, not the “taker.”

Yet, here we are. After a long season the Lord has given my friend George and I this new ministry to steward. As we have prayed and planned for The Good Fight Collective it was apparent we needed to go the 501(c)3 route.

- That is so we can serve churches who might not have someone to lead men’s groups and ministries.

- That is so we can host camps at a reasonable price.

- That is so we can invest in church leaders and not ask for things from them.

- That is so we can invest in others more intentionally and less transactionally.

- There is more, but we want to be an open-handed ministry that serves others in fighting the good fight.

That means I need to raise my salary to serve in this ministry. I have a rich history of God’s provision in my life. Not in grand boisterous ways, but in so many simple, practical and

life-giving ways that have propelled my ministry over the years.

I told a friend recently that I believe in TGFC so much I’m willing to go into the support raising world because I truly think we can be a positive force for His Kingdom. I believe the work we want to do will affect so many. I know what happens when men have a healthy community. It affects every aspect of their life. Their work. Their family. Their church. I know that because I have the honor of living it.

As we have prayed and stewed on this, I am all in. So much so I’m willing to ask for help. And we need it to launch. TGFC is starting from scratch and I am responsible for raising my salary.

If you would be interested in being a part of the good fight team, thank you.

You can give one-time or monthly on our site. Just click here and it will take you to the page where you can do that.

If you have questions about that and want to talk, I’d love to. Email me here and we can set a time!

The Good Fight Collective is a 501(c)3 ministry so all gifts are tax deductible.

Thanks for checking in and considering being a part of helping others fight the good fight. I know it’s a battle that’s worth fighting.
